Dr. Deependra Rokaya
Dr. Rokaya is a federalism and Localization expert of this Institute. He obtained Ph.D. degree in Political Science in 2017 from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. His doctoral thesis title was "Impact of Foreign Aid on Nepal's Political Conflict Management". He is also a rural development expert. He is a member of the Nepal Development Research Institute and has been involved in research and studies related to Nepal's policies, programs and budget and economic development. From 2019 to 2022, Dr. Rokaya was a member of Karnali Province Planning Commission. He has significantly contributed to planning and project development such as Karnali Soch 2100 BS, Karnali Province First Five Year Plan, Sustainable Development Province Report, Medium Term Expenditure Structure, Road Master Plan, Tourism Master Plan and Karnali Province Project Bank. He has also played a leadership role in health policy making. Dr. Rokaya has also worked as the information and communication and public relations expert to the Home Minister in 2018 BS and as the press advisor of Peace and Reconstruction Minister in 2068 BS. Dr. Rokaya has also worked as a member and Province Coordinator in Federalism and Localization Center. He has also worked as a trainer for civil servants of Nepal and editor of some journals and newspapers. While working as an active journalist for 17 years, he has interviewed many leaders of major political parties in the country. Dr. Rokaya has published research articles in various Journals. He has published books titled The Unwritten History of Khas Vyasi Thapalya, The Nafako Jindagi, Lipu Lake Illusion and Reality and Karnali's Essence.
